Statements

On September 22, 2020:

The White House released an executive order extending the ban on racial equity training from government agencies to government contractors and grantees. Federal agencies must also include these stipulations into federal contracts. This EO is unacceptable, explicitly racist, and deeply harmful. The National Racial Equity Working Group on Homelessness and Housing released this Statement on the Executive Order on Race and Sex Stereotyping in collaboration with our members and other partners.

In June 2020:

Members of the National Racial Equity Working Group signed on to the National Housing Advocates Statement on Policing and Black Communities. As organizations dedicated to ending America’s homelessness and housing crisis, we stand in support of Black people and the Black organizers who are working on housing justice including the Movement for Black Lives, Moms 4 Housing, and others during this time of reckoning and transformation. We echo their demands to divest from criminal legal systems and invest in Black communities.
